Innovative Behavioral & Consulting Services understands that all children have different likes, passions, strengths, and skill levels. We embrace your child's uniqueness by fostering an environment that celebrates your child and what they enjoy.
Our providers use a naturalistic approach to teaching your child new skills. Through our approach children can learn communication, social and functional skills while having fun.
Innovative Behavioral & Consulting Services recognizes that when children engage in behaviors such as aggression, running away, or self-injurious behaviors, intervention must take place.
In our intervention, we have two categories of behaviors. The "big behavior" and the "smaller behaviors".
The "big behavior" might be a type of aggression to others, running away from caregivers or the child causing injury to themselves.
The "smaller behavior" is a precursor behavior or a "warning sign" that the "big behavior" is likely about to occur. This might include yelling, name-calling, or fist clenching.
Our intervention(s) to these behaviors include:
-Assessment of the "big behavior" to determine what the behavior looks like, why the behavior is happening, and any "smaller behaviors" that happen before the "big behavior" occurs.
-Skill Building to teach children how to get what they want without engaging the previously mentioned behaviors.
-Caregiver Education to teach parents how to recognize the function(s) of the "big behavior" and how to identify and address "smaller behaviors" to teach new skills.
At Innovative Behavioral & Consulting Services, we understand that each child is unique and family situations are different. Therefore all of our programs are individualized to meet those needs.
